Providing over 10 million meals to Florida’s hungry children
A Mission to Feed
Hungry Children
Our Mission
Feeding Dreams was founded by Ed Mullen with a mission to combat childhood hunger and malnutrition that affect one in five children in Florida. Through grants, fundraising efforts, and school partnerships, we deliver highly nutritious meals to chronically hungry children. Helping to break the cycle of poverty, these meals lead to better health and educational performance, laying the foundation for a healthier, self-sufficient future for our children.
How would you feel if you went 68 hours without food?
Children’s hunger in Florida is at epidemic levels — one in five children go hungry. Since our founding in 2014, we’ve provided more than 10 million meals to at-risk children.
Feeding Dreams brings awareness and nutritious meals to these “empty-refrigerator kids” who go hungry over the weekends. What happens when hungry children return to school having not eaten for 68 long hours? They lose the opportunity to learn on Monday, 20% of their school week. We set out to solve the problem of what we call “Lost Mondays” by feeding children through our Power Pack Program.
Feeding Hungry Children Across Florida
Our nutritious backpack meals ensure that children have enough food to sustain them without relying solely on the school cafeteria.
